MALDEN CENTER MBTA STATION'S NEW LOOK

The Malden Center MBTA Station, the fifth busiest station in the MBTA’s Orange Line transit system, has undergone a $6 million facelift.
Located at the entranceway to downtown Malden, the station is now handicapped accessible, and has also undergone some much-needed landscaping improvements. Period lighting and a new landscaped plaza now accent the site making it more inviting to residents and commuters. The city has taken on the responsibility of maintaining the landscaping at the site under its privately-financed beautification program.
An informational kiosk located in the new plaza will soon contain information about the city as well as a map of the downtown area.
